The church vests herself with the year
The church year is not a calendar of dates but a living procession — from the watchful candles of Advent, through the joy of the Nativity, the revelation of the Epiphany, the silence of Lent, the glory of Easter, the fire of Pentecost, and the long green season of growth. As the priest vests for the altar, the church vests herself with the year.
